About Us
A village pub at the heart of the community since 1997
The Village Swan's story is a testament to the power of community!
In 1997, when plans threatened to turn the Mermaid Restaurant into a private home, Ivinghoe Aston residents rallied together. Their successful objection led to an even bolder move: they bought the restaurant themselves, transforming it into The Village Swan, which reopened in November 1997.

Today, landlords Steve and Penny, along with their fantastic team, continue this legacy, ensuring the pub remains the vibrant heart of the village. From hosting local gatherings and charity events to running popular quizzes, they foster a strong sense of community.

Service
First off, life revolves around the bar, so that's where to head for drinks, menus and to find out where you're sitting if you've booked.

If a table isn't reserved you're welcome to sit at it and have a bite to eat or drink. If you can't find a table, ask and we'll try to find one for you.

The tables in our garden are on a first come, first served basis.
Dogs
Dogs of the well behaved and 'on-the lead' variety are welcome in the bar area.

If you are booking a table and bringing a dog please make us aware so we can assign a specific table for you.
Children
Whilst primarily an adult's environment, children are still very welcome in areas away from the bar and especially in our large garden.

Across the road from the pub is a lovely play area, we have some bench seating at the front of the pub which looks over this area to keep an eye on the little ones.
Etiquette
We’re a relaxed pub and love a good pint by the fire after a good walk, so we welcome muddy paws and boots.
